To tell you the truth, I haven't looked at even one blog in months. It's been a rough year.
After one year of battling cancer, Mom passed away on August 5th. I flew to PA and arrived at the hospital just one hour before she took her last breath. They say she was waiting for me. I don't know but if that's true, I'm glad she did! She was 70 years old.
My Aunt Laurie was with us when Mom passed and was a tremendous support. Her husband, who travels a lot because of his job made time to be there for Mom's service. Little did either of them know that just over a month later, he would also pass away and Laurie would be attending yet another funeral service...this time of her husbands. He was in Wisconsin on business and was found laying in the hall of the hotel he was staying in. He had a stroke but could't be given the med that needs to be administered within a certain amount of time afterward because no one knows how long he was laying there. He lived about a week after that. He was 54 years old.
I am still reeling from the loss of my mother and now I feel so badly for my Aunt. She has two grown boys who I know will be there for her, supporting her as she did us.
We will be doing our usual outage this Fall but we are going up to Maine to see Masterchief's mother for her 89th birthday first. All four of her kids will be together. She will be delighted!
I don't know when, if ever the blogging bug will bite again. I haven't picked up a needle in ages! I know it will all return some day....maybe during the Winter when things settle down.
Oh, I almost forgot. Mom had two miniature schnauzers that she adored like they were her own children (maybe even more) LOL!!! They are brothers and have always been together but my step father couldn't take care of them both because of his own physical limitations. Masterchief made the decision that we could bring one of them home with us. ♥(YAY)♥ It's like having a little bit of Mom right here in Kentucky with me!

His name is Gibbs. Mom named the boys Gibbs and Magee, after two characters on a TV series she liked to watch, NCIS. It's going to break my heart to have to board him while we go away for work but I feel good about where we are taking him. That makes all the difference.
As we were going through Mom's things we found these papers.
She took the time to copy pictures of the food she always gave them and where it could be bought. When I read the last part, I had to swallow the lump in my throat.
So I am.
Honoring one of her strongest last wishes.
I hope she is pleased.
Hug the ones you love! We don't know what tomorrow brings. Cherish each moment.
