♥ THANK YOU ♥

This will be a quick post this morning to thank you all for the many emails with thoughts and prayers attached that I have received in the last few weeks.

A big thank you to Shirlee for posting my message on her blog.  I just didn't have the time to sit down for a blog post then and I am grateful to Shirlee for letting everyone know why I was MIA for a bit.

Mom was very touched and thankful for the prayers being sent her way from all over the world.  I went through the comments and emails just telling her where they all came from and we both were amazed at the kindness of all of you, even though most of us have never met.  She says to "keep 'em coming" as she faces the many doctor's appointments and treatments ahead.  She had the port put in place during the past week and will begin chemotherapy treatments soon.  I flew to PA to help prepare meals, etc during her recovery after the surgery (total hysterectomy).  She is being told to gain weight before she starts with the treatments so she is now eating all the stuff that she spent her whole life trying to drum up the willpower not to eat!  Mom has never been what one would consider overweight but now she is needing to beef up so she has some reserve for the upcoming possible side effects from chemo.

So  now I am in New Jersey preparing to start the usual Fall outage at Hope Creek Generating Station.  As usual, the outage is slated to last until the first week or so of November.  I hope nothing goes wrong that it lasts longer because I want to be available should Mom need a helping hand after these treatments begin.

I haven't had much time to read or comment on any of your blogs.  I always miss keeping in touch with you all while I'm working but soon the outage will be over and I'll be catching up with what all of you are stitching for the upcoming holidays.

I met with Catherine and Bert (Brett) this past Thursday.  I always look forward to meeting with them.  It's probably a good thing that we don't live very close because we could really stir up some trouble.  I didn't bring my camera or think of taking a pic with my phone and for that I am kicking myself but there will be another opportunity I'm sure.  We met at a Starbucks, then went to the Strawberry Sampler.  I picked up the Forget Me Not Sampler that came out recently and also the 2014 Book Of Days.  After that we shopped a little at the Christmas Tree Shop and Bed Bath and Beyond.  Lastly, (and the most fun) we stopped in to Maidenform and went bra shopping!  Now that was a blast!  Those ladies asked us if we were related or just friends.  I think we said something about one of us picking the other up along the road that morning. Like I said, we could have most people thinking we escaped from the mental ward if we lived any closer.

It is probably going to be until sometime in November before I am able to post again so in the meantime, please know that Mom and I are both so very thankful for all of your sweet notes and comments of thoughts and prayers said on her behalf.  Please continue to pray that Mom will have a positive response to the treatments and that she will have little or no discomfort through this process.

Heartfelt thanks,
and lots of hugs,
♥ xo ♥

Prayers and good wishes for your Mom.
I just finished 6 months of chemo and I feel great. Still have some side effects that I hope will pass in time. It's been a long journey but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone hang in there!
