I Got Mail!

Hello my friends!  I do hope you have had a good start to your week.  As I type this I have the windows in the house all open and the curtains are drifting around like ghosts.  It reached the mid 60's here today but we are in for a cold spell again.  That's OK though.  I'll take what I can get in January!

Thank you so much for the kind comments on my pin cushion creation.  As you probably guessed I was very excited that I had made it all by myself.  I don't consider myself to be a very crafty person but that one wasn't so bad, if I do say so myself.   :o)

I had a couple SUPER visits from my mail carrier yesterday and today.  Monday I received a package from Lisa at The Inspired Stitcher.  She mentioned something once about a tool she uses on her blog to tame those wild threads called a star de-tailer.  I had never heard of it before and said something about looking for one in a comment and she up and sent me one!  Lisa says once I use it I will wonder how I ever got along without it.  I am sure she's right.  She even made the cutest little fob that's on it.  Oh she knows I like pink!  She also included some tea and a few freebies she picked up at a retreat she recently went to.

Thank you so much Lisa.  I will treasure this (and use it often).

The other two things arrived in today's mail.  I must have oooed and ahhhed a little too loudly (purely by accident you understand) about a book I saw that I wanted.  I'm not sure if I saw it on someone's blog or where it was but Masterchief got right on the big boy computer and ordered it for me!

It's an awesome 712-page book that has 844 alphabets in it!  It's a sampler lover's dream!

♥ Thanks Honey ♥

Here's the third item that had me all beside myself....

Now I have all three seasons!  Should I wait and watch the season each week or play this baby start to finish right now?

Oh I almost forgot - I got something else in the mail yesterday too.....

These are the frames I picked out from East Side Mouldings.  Now I have to get the glass and wait for Carmen to come here from Tennessee for our framathon!  I can't wait too see Carmen and her husband. They have become great friends we met while in TN a couple years ago.  You can go HERE to see her blog.

I've been working on a few other things lately that has taken me temporarily away from my sampler.  I can't say what it is yet because if it turns out, there might be a few RAK's coming from my neck of the woods, or from my bend in the lake!  Things don't always turn out the way I picture them in my head so I'm not getting all excited just yet.  Here are a few pictures of my sampler as it is right now.  I'm not sure how much I got done since the last time I posted a pic..........

It's the details in the border that take the longest...
I think you can click on the pictures to see them bigger.  It seems I only stitch a few stitches and I'm cutting my thread already!  I will be SO GLAD to have this one done.  Have I said that yet?  I'm sure I have!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I said in one of my recent posts that I would offer a giveaway as part of the Grow Your Blog party.  I gained some new friends during that shindig and I want to thank you all by offering a giveaway.  I'm not sure yet what I will be offering but I can tell you it will be Valentine's Day themed.  I have a few ideas rattling around in my head.  If you would like to be included in this giveaway just leave a comment on today's post telling me so.  You don't have to have a blog and I'll send the winnings to wherever you call home.  I would like you to be a follower though since that is the reason why I am having this giveaway.  Stay tuned for more details, like WHAT I will be offering and WHEN the deadline for entering is.
Thank you friend for visiting with me today.  I love reading your comments.  They really make my day!
~hugs
Hi Peggy Lee, lovely chatty post. Still not sure what a star de tailer is but it sure sounds interesting.
I used my star de-tailed on many occasions. Especially good for those that stitch right down to the nub, like I know you do Peggy. :-) I just picked up season two of D-A. I watched season one from start to finish. You may want at least savor each season. I was ready to watch season one all over again. I am hooked. Your frames are beautiful; enjoy your frame-a-thon. Great progress!
Wonderful mail goodies! I started drooling the minute I saw that letters bible & immediately went on a search for it & found it, but yikes! A tad pricey! I think I'll drop a hint to John & see how far that gets me : )
