I'm just gonna do it......, that is.

I've been so busy lately that I haven't taken the time
to sit down and put a blog post together because for some reason
I feel it will take me a long time.

Well I'm just going to post a few pics and a few words and call it a post.
Hope that's OK.

Here's what I've been up to lately.....

Saxon Sampler

I know it probably doesn't look like I've done much
since the last update picture.
My stitching has really slowed this summer but from what I've
been reading on some blogs, I'm not the only one suffering
from loss of stitching mojo.
It's tough to sit down inside and stitch when it's so beautiful outside.

Since seeing THIS POST on Sharon's blog,
It's Daffycat, I caught the bug to paint boxes too!

I'm hooked!  They start out as those brown paper mache boxes
you find at any craft store.  SO cool!!
A BIG thank you to Sharon for the inspiration.

Speaking of boxes...I found a few more recently at sales
and thrift stores to do 'whatever' to.

Can you tell I've gone off the deep end with button collecting?

Who knew there was such a thing as Civil War underwear buttons?
I sure didn't!

I don't know what this plant is called but I had no idea it was
going to take over my front flower bed...

It was just a few sprigs sticking out of a 3" pot when I bought it and
look at it now!
I'm not complaining though.  I really like it.
I didn't save the name of it though and I want to be sure to get
a couple of these next year.  I also want to get more Mexican Heather.
That's what you see around the base of the little bird bath.

Ok now no decent post is complete without a few grandbaby pics.
Here he is 'helping' Mom and Dad plant the garden a month or so ago...

Laymie just sent this one to me tonight as I started putting together this post....

Here he is on Daddy's motorcycle.  Just look at those ears!

I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.  I had a wonderful start to my 44th year.  Jan sent me a whole box of birthday goodies but I can't find the pictures right now.  Masterchief is revamping our main computer and things aren't quite back to normal yet.  I promise to find them and share them with you when I am able. Thank you so much Jan for putting so much thought and heart in to my birthday surprise.  You will see when I find the pics what a good time I had opening each giftie!  :o)

I wish you all a stitch-filled weekend.  I hope to devote more time to it this weekend than I have recently.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I love reading your comments and I appreciate the time you take to leave them!

Thank You!

Good Morning my friends!

Just a quick post this morning to thank you all so very much
for the many birthday and anniversary wishes
 for my son and daughter-in-law.
You all are so kind!

Today marks the last of the August celebrations.
Yep, that's right.....
I received the customary birthday spankings this morning.....
all 45 of them!
Why must I get the "one to grow on" smackaroo at this age??

We left Friday morning for the 127 yard sales, spent the night in TN
and headed back the next day.

A few of my favorites...

I have many more pictures and things to share with you but am short on time this morning.
I want to thank Vickie and Sweet Sue for thinking of me and sending a birthday surprise!

Vickie made this adorable little ladybug pinkeep and the counting pins. It's made with a bottle cap inside!  How cute is that!

Yesterday I the mail carrier delivered this gorgeous tissue cover from Sweet Sue.
She knows I love the patriotic theme too!

Look at the back.......

I thank you ladies for your sweet, homemade gifts.  I appreciate the time it takes for something like this.
I am so thankful for your friendship.

Well if I don't go get my exercise duds on right NOW I will be tempted to give in
and not do it today.

Thanks for your visit today.

And thank you for your sweet comments....I love receiving them!

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary too!

August is a good month for our family.
The first week is filled with celebrations.

Happy Birthday Laymie!

Today you are a whole quarter of a century old!

I am so very happy that my son chose YOU to be his wife, and my daughter-in-law!

I remember when he told me who his date was going to be for a school dance.
I'm pretty sure he was 15 and you were 14.

I wish I could be there to bake your birthday cake but here I am, miles away.
So I hope you have the happiest of all birthdays!

I Love You,
Peg (M♥M)...
a girl can never have too many mom's

Don't put away your party gear yet!

Happy Anniversary Josh and Laymie!

Seven years ago tomorrow you two became man and wife.

And now you have started a beautiful family together.

I wish you many, many years of happiness together!

With Love and Long Distance Kisses
To You Both...

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my baby boy!

Twenty-six years ago today at 9:24 a.m. you were born.

Now you've grown in to a fine young man...and my goodness, how you've grown!

You've given me a grandson...

...and there's a granddaughter on the way!

As compared to the stories I heard from other mom's, you were such an easy boy to raise...

Well most of the time!

You are a sweet and caring husband and a loving father...

Happy Birthday Josh!
I love you!
