It's Good To Be Home!

Happy Saturday to all my friends out there in blogland!!

I've been meaning to do a quick post here ever since we arrived home on Thursday afternoon but I've been running around here getting settled in to my old Kentucky home.  Alright well it's not that old but gosh I sure missed her!  After living in a hotel room since August, my modest sized home feels like a mansion.

We took advantage of one of our treasured days off while in Georgia to do a little antique/peddler's mall shopping.  We both found a few treasures we felt we couldn't live without.  Of course you would be correct in assuming that Masterchief's treasure were practically all Ball jars or other jars of some sort.   For lack of time I only snapped one quick pic moments ago but will try to share a few of the others things in a later post.

I found this framed cover of an old magazine.  Please forgive the slant as I was trying to avoid the glare.  Click on the pic for a better view.  I love the look on her sweet face and just look at those big eyes!  This particular issue is dated April 1934.  I haven't decided if I will reframe it or not.  For right now it's going to stay where it is until I have more time to fuss with it.

My unpacking efforts are going at a snail's pace it seems.  When we left home in August it was good old Summer time.  I sort of giggled when I first opened the dresser drawers and saw all our Summer clothes in there.  Well....there was a big sigh after the giggle because I knew what was ahead of me.  I can't really unpack the suitcases until I put those clothes away.  I also have to put all our work related items in one big bin to store until we are called to go somewhere again.

Needless to say I have yet to stitch one little X. I had all good intentions to start stitching on one of the pieces that you all so kindly voted on in my last post but I was fighting a sinus cold and then came down with something else that I hope I never live to go through again.  I won't go in to details but I seriously thought my Masterchief was going to have to cart my behind to the nearest ER. Thankfully it went away just as quickly as it came on but it did take me a while to get back to 'normal'....whatever that is.
Anyway.....Land Of The Free won by two votes over the Saxon Sampler so when I get all settled in here I will probably pick up one of them.

As I mentioned in a previous post somewhere I want to offer a Welcome Home Giveaway.  While I was in Georgia I picked up a couple things to include and I'm sure I'll add a couple more things before the winner is drawn.

So here's how it works............

If you are interested in entering my giveaway
just leave a comment on this post only, telling me so.

For a second entry you can post about it on your blog
but you must tell me in a separate comment so I don't
get confused and only count you in once.
Getting confused is coming easier to me recently.

So that's it!  I usually have Masterchief draw a name for me but I think I will try that random generator thing.
I will close the giveaway for entries on the evening of Saturday, November 10th. I will announce it sometime the following day.  Good luck!!

Right after I hit PUBLISH on this one I am going to try to figure out how to get rid of that annoying word verification thing.  It never bothered me before but it seems I can't figure the little letters and numbers out as well as I used to and I've noticed  most of you have done it on your blogs.  So I'll give it a whirl.

Thanks for stopping by today friends!  I appreciate your comments so much.  I hope the remainder of your weekend holds lots of crossed threads for you.

~~Peggy Lee

Somewhere in this house is an "almost done" Saxon Sampler....I started it in 1989 (thanks for the date reminder as I hang my head in shame)....as I
was putting our name in (it must have been late at night), I realized that I had miscounted and didn't have room for the last letter (obviously I didn't plan ahead)....I was so disgusted I rammed it in a drawer! Seeing it aain and "time" relieving all that stress, I will pull it out, frog, frog, frog and finish it. I would love for you to drop my name in the bucket, so to speak, and would love it even more if I
were chosen!
And, Welcome Back Home!

Welcome Home!! That word verification thing bothers the heck out of me too. Sometimes I can't even read what it's telling me to type, but yet lets it go through sometimes - odd! And I'd ove to be entered into your giveaway!!
