Mistletoe???

OK....I'm about to reveal my ignorance here.  I am not ashamed.  I know I can be honest with my stitchy friends.....

Yesterday I learned what MISTLETOE is!!  I know.... go ahead an giggle.  I blame it all on never living in the country.  Masterchief and I went out in our new "buggy" (that's what we have named her) to collect mistletoe yesterday.  I had no idea that those tufts of green in otherwise wintered-over trees were mistletoe!  We even found some with berries on it.  With BERRIES I tell ya!!!!   It was sort of romantic, really.
After driving around for a while we finally found some that was low enough to reach.  We had to putt clear down to the lake.  We have tested it out and ... YEP...it's mistletoe alright!!
Some time ago I won a most generous giveaway offered by Patti at Tapestry of Dreams.  It was a gift certificate to an online store of my choice.  I chose 123 Stitch.  I just received my order in today's mail and wanted to show you what Patti "gave me".
Chart: Marriage Sampler by La D Da

Belle Soie silk threads "Blue Lagoon"

"P" needle minder

Thank you so much Patti for the gift certificate-giveaway.  I've been wanting this particular needle minder for quite some time.

I caught just a tad of Christmas Spirit today when I saw these two adorable Christmas tree today at Walmart.

I didn't have to dig out any of my ornaments either!  I'll probably move them to a different location but just wanted you to see them!

Well it's official....we leave tomorrow morning for our fifth anniversary getaway.  We will be spending two nights at the Dupont mansion B&B in Louisville, KY.  We aren't making any plans aside from staying at this beautiful place.  We only want to relax and enjoy each other's company.

Lastly I leave you with the latest picture I've received from my daughter-in-law of my new grandson, Liam....

While visiting them in mid-November I picked up this cute little monkey outfit at Gymboree.  It's got monkey's all over it...even the little sockies!!  Look at that little chubby belly!  He now weighs 11 lbs. 11 oz.  It's TREMENDOUSLY difficult to look at your full grown children and know at one time they were this little, isn't it?  In fact...this little guy's daddy weighed only five pounds when I brought him home from the hospital!

Ahhhh...memories!!

I won't be posting to my blog anymore until Wednesday morning when I will be announcing the winner of my giveaway.  I know I probably should have included a picture of a few things I'll be giving away but I guess that  only adds to the suspense, right?  I will be sure to post several pictures of what I'm giving when I announce the winner on Wednesday!

Thank you so much for stopping by....
Until Wednesday...
~~Peggy Lee

Cool! I got those same trees at Walmart 2 weeks ago!!!! You'll have to cruise through my blog. I put mine on a table top with stitchy stuff all around them.

Mistletoe! We need to walk around our yard/woods and find some, I'm sure we have some close by here.

Be careful on your getaway!! It is supposed to snow pretty hard tomorrow. Of course, driving in the north probably has trained you, but remember the others on the road haven't that experience.
Your grandson is a darling.

Having grown up with mistletoe all around me (most everywhere in Arkansas!) it's hard to imagine someone not seeing it before but then I bet there are things I haven't seen that grow in other parts of the country! Have a wonderful anniversary trip and Congratulations! blessings, marlene

What a post just chock-full of cuteness. The monkey wins hands-down, but I really like those trees too! :)
