Meteorological Winter Begins & A Thank You Giveaway.....

  Hello Friends!
It's December already...where did November go?  October?  September?

I can't believe it's Winter already.  When we left home for work in N.J. it was 90 degrees!  I don't care for cold weather but I'm determined to think positive.

I hope I didn't lose any of you with that wacky post yesterday. You see in every Sunday paper this fella writes an article done like that and sometimes it just strikes me funny.  I loved the drunk rooster story and thought I'd share it with you.  I have to read it over a few times just to understand what he's trying to say!

Not too much stitching going on here even though I couldn't wait to get home to start in on something!  I'm still doing a bit of unpacking and settling in.  I think everything has been put in it's place by now.  Our sleep schedule is still out of whack though.  Last night I went to bed around 6pm and woke up almost 12 hours later!  I'll be so glad when the 10pm to 6am sleepy time hits again!

Here's a pic of just a little progress on Rose Garden by BBD....

I have already put my initials in the border have started again at the other top corner.  I am using CC English Ivy and Manor Red.  I did my initials (and will stitch the year) in a variegated brown I had laying around.  Get this folks......I am stitching it OVER ONE!!!  I know, I'm crazy like that.  I'm not sure what count this piece of fabric is but I know it's tiny.  I want to make a little pin keep out of it and didn't want a 5x7 pin keep on my table.  I just don't have that many pins!

Something is missing here......

I haven't been doing much stitching on ABC because I need to find a spot where working with this big frame is most comfortable and well lit.  Masterchief's mother gave us this little chair years ago and I had always intended on recovering the seat.  Well it looks like I better get busy!  Maybe I'll accomplish that today.

While in New Jersey I had a few things framed at The Strawberry Sampler in Glen Mills, PA.  Here is Plum Street Sampler's Coffin Buzz......

I wanted to hang it up somewhere here in the kitchen but haven't decided on the perfect place so it is temporarily here on the top shelf of my baker's rack sitting nicely in a stand with my little angels.  I might just decide to leave it there.  What do you think?

Masterchief put a new faucet in my kitchen sink the other day.  I just LOVE IT!  It goes well with the black sink he put in shortly after we moved here.  Here's the before and after shots......

I love it....Thanks to my Masterchief who had to make two trips back to Lowe's before he could bless it installed.  You would think Moen would do a better job at making sure ALL the parts are included in the box with the faucet!

                                              ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

**NEW BLOGGER ALERT**
I recently came across a new blog that I am SO excited about! If I remember correctly is was Ma Teakettle that brought this new blog to my attention. Her name is Nancy over at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.  Nancy also has an E-Bay store. Today (in fact just minutes ago) she is offering a most generous giveaway of 1000....yes you read that right....1000 yards of her own hand dyed threads.  The drawing will be on Christmas Day so get on over there and become a follower today!  There are many ways to get your name in several times so don't delay.

Another fabulous giveaway is offered by Jennifer at Feather's In The Nest.  She always has the most generous giveaways.  I was honored to be the winner of her VERY FIRST giveaway some time ago before I started a blog of my own.  Thanks you Jennifer for this most awesome offering!!  This one ends December 7th so get on over there and enter!

Now to offer my second giveaway since starting my blog.....
While working in N.J. my followers reached over 100!  This morning I noticed I am up to 109!  WOW!!!  I want to thank each of you for taking the time to read my ramblings even when some of them involve no stitchy news to share.  I want to offer so much but am limited to what I have been able to pick up at a couple shops while traveling.  I wish Santa would give me a LNS to shop at instead of having to do it online.  What would we do without our online shops though?  I am so grateful for them.
Masterchief has hinted several times about including a bottle of his most recent BBQ sauce favorite but I have put my foot down this time!
While I gather this giveaway together you have only to be a follower and comment telling me so on this post.  I will draw the winner on Wednesday December 15th.

Good luck to all who enter and thank you from the bottom of my sampler-luvin' heart to all of you who share a bit yourselves with us through your blogs.

Now I've got to get busy on that chair before my behind gets stuck so bad Masterchief can't help me out of it!

Take care and keep warm.....

~~Peggy Lee

Loved your "drunk rooster" post from yesterday; it had me laughing out loud... at work no less! Had to share it with my co-workers, and they loved it as well.

Your BBD piece is coming along nicely and is going to be a beautiful pinkeep when it grows up :)! I love your ABC's, but I was more awestruck by that floor stand...that thing is awesome, can you tell us about it??

MC did a great job on the new faucet, and it does go perfectly with your gorgeous black sink. Isn't it wonderful to have a handyman for a spouse??!! Course my handyman is my daddy, but that works too :)

I found Nancy's blog through Faye's blog, but I am so happy to see that the word is spreading so quickly. Her giveaway is extremely generous, and her patterns and threads are wonderful.

I would love to be entered in your giveaway as well. I have been following your sweet little blog from the beginning, and it has been a fun and interesting time. Don't know if I could do the job you and MC do...sounds like hard work!

I'll be posting my 2010 Christmas Basket of Cheer today, so be sure to stop by after lunch and check it out.

HAPPY STITCHIN'
Terri

Your BBD is fantastic - especially over one!! Love Coffin Buzz and your new faucet as well!

No need to put my name in the hat, as I was lucky enough to win your first give away and I already have had the pleasure of being treated by you and by receiving a bottle of the "Sauce"! I vote for letting Masterchief put in a bottle!!

What, you don't need an airport landing strip for your pins? Your eyesight (and aim) must be better than mine! I use the entire arm of the couch as a pincushion! LOL! (Your Rose Garden start looks great, BTW!)

I'd love to be included in your giveaway. I am your follower. Thank you!

Well of course I'm a follower and I can't wait to see what you've lined up for us. :) I love your samplers so much but just can't do the cross stitch any more. It's funny because I can still embroidery....but that's not as exact as the counted cross stitches. blessings, marlene
